Crescent Falls on the Bighorn River

My last post from Alberta on December 5, which I cannot link because this and it are pre-scheduled, showed the Bighorn River above and below Crescent Falls.

The falls themselves, were impressive for their height and surroundings but not so much for the water flow. The previous winter had been dry and such snow as there was had not reached its full melt.

We could have walked down to the river level below the falls to check out the Inukshuks (Inuksuks) in the first picture, but decided not to.

Actually, more than likely, one of my kids will end up out there. Maybe I can wait until then! 🙂

Beautiful Falls, and the trees are magnificent.

There’s no logging in (most) parks so the trees can get fairly tall and large but they are even larger and older in the forests of the Pacific Coast. Thanks Inese, for commenting.

Oh yes, they have gigantic trees, but I love the spruces in you photographs for their conic shape. I think it is one of the most beautiful trees.

I hope to visit scenic Alberta someday. You’re fortunate to have been there.

Taking a trip through the Rockies, and down the Icefields Parkway, by car or bus, is something every Canadian should do. (The train goes through the best parts at night! ) I know you’re from the US and have some awesome sights that we don’t particularly in the southwest. Life is too short!
