White Cuban Cars

Continuing the colour-themed Cuban car posts, we now come to white. I don’t recall seeing many black cars in Cuba.

We spent an entire morning in the immense Cristobal Colon cemetery outside the main part of Havana. I’ll post other photos from there later.

I tried for a long time to get a decent shot of an older car cruising on the Malecon (the waterfront street) with old buildings in the background. Between the amount of traffic and my lack of practice with panning, this is the best shot I got.

Okay, this last one is grey; but I ran out of categories and it doesn’t fit anywhere else.

Love these posts. I would love to have one of those cars :

  2. I don’t think white cars have looked so good!

Interesting observation, Julie. What is the dominant car colour in New Zealand? I noticed, for instance, that in San Francisco it was white – to reflect the sun. Where I live, it seems to be black or silver because white picks up our red earth and looks dirty all the time.

  3. Did you stay in Havana…i’d love to go and just be there for a long while…your posts make me want to return…many parts of the island i’d still love to see…i’ve found more out about places to stay now i just need to plot a time to go…the white cars are so classic…another great post Bunty! 🙂

We stayed at a B&B in Central Havana arranged by the photo tour leader, Dan Callis. http://www.havanaworkshops.com/home_page.html He stays at that location himself and has a second B&B that he uses if his tours have more than 4 or 5 people. I’m sorry I don’t have the coordinates for the B&B owners themselves. We flew from Charlottetown to Varadero with SunWing and Dan arranged transport for the four of us to and from Havana.
