Central Havana – Callejon de Hamel, February 2016

On the Sunday of our week in Havana our Havana Photo Workshop walked to Callejon de Hamel to hear more Cuban Rumba music (e.g. Rumberos de Cuba) and to take in the art and people who frequent the Sunday noon performances.   I couldn’t get anywhere near to the musicians and dancers so concentrated on the art (and the people – of which more on a future Thursday.)

Even the taller, surrounding buildings were painted and filled with designs and icons.

And there were interesting details and Spanish quotes. And bathtubs inserted into walls as bench seating or displays or turned upside down for additional seats.
