Same wall art two ways…
Some wall art was on the side of buildings, others, like the one below, seemed to be on facades erected to hide empty lots or completely decayed buildings.
The background of this ‘map’ wall art is the Cuban Flag and I believe the locations and dates may be related to battles or successes in the Cuban revolution. At first I thought it might be a sign for a bus schedule! Any Spanish-speaking people or Cuban experts reading this who’d like to comment?
From the dates in 1956 I figured it had something to do with the Communist takeover of Cuba. I found the following, which explains the words at the upper left of the wall in your photo:

Thanks for taking the time to find this information! The names on the “map” didn’t click with any in Cuba and I never considered that they represented a sea voyage.
looks to be a schedule where the yacht ‘granma’ was at what time on the date shown, yes to the above response too. These are interesting photos. 🙂
Makes perfect sense when you know not to start in Cuba but in Mexico!
Brilliant set of photographs.
Thanks Inese.
This has been interesting to see. I’ll be visiting Havanna, Cienfuegos and Trinidad next year, sadly after the US embargo has ended. I’ve even been granted a meeting with Fidel’s personal photographer, Roberto Salas.
Wow! I look forward to seeing whatever appears on your blog.
