It’s pretty hard to do street photography, which concentrates on people, from the top of a bus. Just when you think you have a shot lined up, the light changes and the bus moves. Or a truck moves between you and your subject. Or there’s a parked car blocking part of the shot (as with the photo below).

  1. Those hop on hop off buses are great! I am hopeless at street photography – especially with people in the shots. One day 🙂

    The vantage point is great. You see much more than in the street bumping into the tourists 🙂

      The problem with the top of the bus and shooting people was that my camera’s zoom is fairly short. As for bumping into tourists in NYC – if you avoid Times Square and about three blocks around it, and Fifth avenue, and the theatres, and tourist traps like the Statue of Liberty, there are mostly everyday people going about their business.
