For a number of years, there was a PEI Fiddle Camp where families and adults gathered to learn celtic instruments, dancing and yes, the fiddle. Neither their web site nor their Facebook page is up to date, so I guess they stopped doing it. One of my partner’s cousins came up from Maine with her family to participate and so we attended one of the evening shows which featured some of the instructors and other invited groups. This might have been a group from the French part of PEI, whose step dancing very much resembles that of Irish step dancing. At the end of the evening, there was a square dance – which I hadn’t done in ~45 years.
I almost deleted this photo some time ago; so I’m glad I didn’t. The step dancers created their own motion blur but there is also camera shake (1/13 sec, ISO 1250, f 5 handheld)
