Orwell Corner Historic Village is located in Prince Edward Island, about 20 minutes east of Charlottetown, PEI’s largest city.
It includes an excellent farm museum showcasing farming methods, equipment, tools and personal stories from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The village includes a small farm with a mix of animals (next post), a church, general store, hall, school and a working hand pumped well. While the village and its building are open to the public only during tourist season (for a fee) the site is accessible all year long. The hall is well-used presenting a mix of events ranging from concerts and ceilidhs to theatre and fairs.
In the next PEI post I’ll visit the farm and some of the animals.
