The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are a popular part of every Gold Cup and Saucer parade in Charlottetown, PEI.
Because of the murders of three RCMP officers in Moncton, New Brunswick, in early June of this year, the RCMP receive solemn ovations as they parade by.
On a lighter note, a pair of RCMP balloons has been a part of the parade for the last few years. The balloons have to be partially deflated to fit under electrical wires. These balloons bend over backwards and then pop back up, brushing trees as they do.
As the parade broke up, the balloons were popping up after passing under yet another set of wires at the bottom of North River Road.
And before they turned the corner at the bottom of the road, they were standing tall again. Much thanks for all that the RCMP does for Canada and Canadians.
