Gold Cup Parade Bands

The number of bands was down this year. Due to the rain?

The Charlottetown Clash.
Usually the last unit in the parade. They weren’t this year and I was caught by surprise and didn’t get a good shot away.
The band is made up of local musicians: teachers, military reserve, university music students, and members of local bands. They rehearse ONCE in the week before the parade and wear the most outlandish getup they can find. Their music is always first class.

The Burlington Teen Tour Band.
Very talented and playing sophisticated stuff (Elgar?) First time on PEI; too bad they had to march in the rain.

The Belfast (PEI) pipe and drum band – or perhaps it is a completely different band from Nova Scotia. I didn’t get a shot of their flag or bass drum, so I apologize to whichever one it was.

There were a couple of baton twirling troupes, but this was my favourite because there was a boy in it.

How cool is this. A young man baton twirler.

Thanks for sharing photos of the parade. John and I live in Burlington and never tire of seeing the teen tour band. They always look smart.. They have travelled the world…have been in Pasadena Rose Parade. There has been a Teen Tour Band since I was a kid, many years ago….also, John is from Belfast, so also great to see. Enjoy all your photos!! Hope you are all well….say”hello” to your gang!

Thanks Sandy. I’ve been off collecting more photos – of New York City and Quebec City mostly, and family in Pennsylvania.
