Yangshuo Market

Walking to lunch in Yangshuo. Hot and hungry.

After our Li River cruise, Li villages tour and lunch, we were taken to Yangshuo’s street market. It was mid-day and very hot. A number of people – the smart people – found somewhere cool to sit and drink beer or coffee or something cool. I took photos.

A very busy street. It was along here that some of our number were taken to a shop featuring brand name knock offs.

These are two of my favourite street photos from the entire trip.

  1. Wonder what kind of person she would be, monkey jane… Did you visit any of the amazing rooftop bars?

We were only in the market for about 90 minutes in the middle of the day before being herded back to our hotel. A few people went to a bar to keep cool, but I don’t think it was a rooftop. Have you been, Felicia?

      • No I haven’t, only have been to Beijng in 90’s with my grandmother but different story:) The signs in your third picture mention amazing roof top bars

  2. ehhh 5th picture…

Yes, I realized what you were asking about, but hadn’t thought much about it when I took or processed the photo. The choice of English names for products and businesses in China is rather weird, though Monkey Jane’s seems perfect for a backpacker alley!

  3. Monkey Jane’s roof top bar – sounds pretty interesting or scary 🙂
